Ethnographical museum of folk handicrafts and technologies
Probably not a single visitor to Minsk be it a tourist or a businessman has ever missed an opportunity to visit the museum. Set on the site of what was the manor in the 18th-19th centuries the museum recreates an economic mechanism of the country estate of that period. There are workshops of wood-processing, a porter’s, smithy, bakery, cheese dairy as well as a wind mill. Apart from observation of old exhibits one has got an opportunity to watch technologies which is a fascinating process. Moreover one can use an opportunity, if one wants,to become a worker for a while, for example, to make a ceramic pot on a porter’s wheel or to forge a horse-shoe at the smithy. To crown all one can enjoy tasting of what is produced at some workshops on the basis of recreated old recipes such asbreadbaked in the bakery, cheese and butter made in the cheese-dairy.The museum offers you both learning and entertainment.
